Since that time, the college has doubled its enrollment, and has twice been identified by Community College Weekly as one of the fastest growing community colleges in the United States. Under Campbell's leadership, the Aspen Institute also has twice named Northeast in the top ten percent of all community colleges in America.

Under Campbell's leadership, the college has expanded the educational technology available to students and staff. The college community is served by the latest technological equipment and now has wireless Internet access throughout campus. As NACC President, Campbell also has a unique perspective on business and workforce training in that he serves as the Chair of the Board of the Jackson County Economic Development Authority (EDA). This Center followed the construction and opening of an 11.2 million dollar Health Education and Workforce Development Center. A 10.5 million dollar, 49,000 square feet Mathematics, Science, and Engineering Technology Center is now under construction on the NACC campus. Campbell also serves as the Chair of the Jackson/DeKalb Counties Industrial Development Authority, an organization whose goal is to develop an industrial/technology park adjacent to the college.
