Torrence Dr. Tonjua Williams Dr. Patty LeeDr. Patricia Askins Lee, a resident of Hemingway, South Carolina, became president of Williamsburg Technical College in 2012. She received the Bachelor of Science Degree from Frances Marion University, the Mas-ter of Education Degree from the Uni-versity of South Carolina and the Doctor of Philosophy Degree from the University of South Carolina. She has over 37 years of experience in teach- ing and administration at both the secondary and postsecondary level. Her areas of expertise include leadership, curriculum and instruction, fiscal administration and human resources man-agement.

Under Dr. Lee's leadership, the college has expanded the educational opportunities available to students as well as the professional development opportunities for faculty and staff. As a result, the college has experienced a 30% in-crease in student enrollment. With emphasis on educational technology, state of the art equipment, exceptional instruc-tors, and personalized student support services, Dr. Lee strives to provide the necessary resources for all students to be successful in reaching their career goals.

As a life-long resident of the county she has a unique per-spective on its business and workforce training needs and works closely with the local Workforce Investment Board and County Economic Development Authority to provide training opportunities relevant to the available jobs. Over the years she has forged personal and professional relation-ships that lend to the overall success of the college. She currently serves on the board of directors for the Waccamaw Regional Economic Outlook Commission, Work Ready Communities, SC Works Partners, and the Coastal Plain Rural Health Network. She chairs the Waccamaw Regional WIB Youth Council and co-chairs the Educational/Training Committee of the Williamsburg County Economic Development Authority.

Dr. Lee has demonstrated exceptional success in establish-ing and strengthening partnerships with K-12 and transfer institutions as the college currently enjoys the largest num-ber of dual enrollment and dual credit students in its history. With such a rich history in the field of public education, she is well versed in the requirements of the Commission on Colleges Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) policies.

Locally, Dr. Lee is a member of several community service organizations including Rotary Club, Lions Club, and Delta Kappa Gamma. With numerous state and local awards for her accomplishments, Dr. Lee is well- respected and highly regarded as the perfect leader to take Williamsburg Technical College to new heights.
